Normalmente, las listas de libros por parte de un personaje famoso son un tanto particulares. Sin embargo, si la lista la hace el maestro Hayao Miyazaki y va dirigida a los más pequeños de la casa, resulta un tesoro sumamente valioso. Estos son los 50 libros que recomienda para iniciarse en la lectura.
La lista de sus libros favoritos para los más jóvenes la seleccionó en el marco de una exposición que tuvo lugar hace unos años. Miyazaki decía que la literatura le sirvió como refugió y huida de la realidad que vivió Japón después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
